History of our Law Firm

WELCOME!  We are delighted that you are visiting to learn more about the Koeck Kirk &  Graves law firm.  If you are a potential client looking for assistance, you’ve come to the right place!  Our hometown is known to us as “Sauk Prairie” the twin communities of Sauk City and Prairie du Sac; our law firm’s home for nearly one hundred years. Our office is located in the heart of the downtown business district in the Village of Prairie du Sac, overlooking the beautiful Wisconsin River.


The firm was founded in the 1930’s by Attorney Charles J. Ploetz.  In the early 1960’s the firm became Ploetz & Glynn, with the addition of Attorney Gerald T. Glynn.  In the intervening years Patrick J. Taggart joined the firm.  Taggart was later elected Sauk County Circuit Court Judge. In the late 1970’s Attorney Carl R. Marquardt merged his Sauk City practice into the firm.  Robert Curtin,  practiced with Marquardt, and was later elected Sauk County Circuit Court Judge.  In  the late 1970′  Dale Carlson and Rick Koeck joined the practice.  Attorney Franklin R. Kirk followed in 1984.  Jama S. Graves joined the firm in the mid nineties.  Attorney Gina Nugget joined the firm in 2016.

Beginning in 2018 the practice is owned by Kirk and Graves LLC, but continue to use our business name KOECK KIRK & GRAVES.
